THRIVING FOR NOTHING
I am tired of reading articles about whiny born-again organic converts who whine about living in congested expensive cities If you really want to change your life why do you continue to live in the city? You know who you are: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco. These cities are overpriced and crowded. With the exception of San Francisco these cities are also polluted.
I read an article the other day about a restaurant in Los(t) Angeles that is building a roof -top garden. I wouldn't want to eat fruits and vegetables from a roof-top garden that has been saturated in pollution - i.e. smog.
Is 'green' the latest fashion trend? Will it soon be replaced by something else? I hope not.
Examples: $400 designer grocery bags.
Bring your own paper or fabric bag to the store.
There was an article about a man who spent close to $300,000 converting his house in an expensive (isn't everything in California overpriced?) Southern California beach side community into an 'organic' house.
I applaud his decision to live 'green'. But how many of us can really afford to re-build our dwelling into a 'green' residence? I wrestled with this decision for many years. I decided the best route was to move into a yurt.
I'm beginning to notice that most of the green converts are young upwardly mobile. Yes, they can afford to live green. But once again most of them live in the big city where green is the new in word.
I applaud the people who live in Oregon and Washington. Still somewhat affordable.
Instead of living in over-priced cities where most artists starve just to live in a room no bigger than a closet, why not move to the country in a yurt and start your own artistic village?
Everyone needs to be re-born.
I was re-born 2 years ago.
We need to take this into the next realm. If we really want to live with NOTHING we must become NONEXISTENT.
YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN PATH IN LIFE BEFORE THE ROAD IS COVERED IN ASPHALT.
MOVE FORWARD NEVER LOOKING BACK.
