Loft living. For who?

Loft living is being touted as the latest and greatest thing for the rich and young. But there was a time where only starving artists unable to afford housing would live downtown in rat infested, drafty and moldy abandoned industrial buildings, paying minimal rent because the landlord couldn't rent it out.

A yuppie wouldn't be caught dead living in a downtown loft.

How times have changed.

Lofts are advertised as 'downtown entertainment living'. Yes, if you have $500,000 + to live in the former rat infested, drafty and moldy building that in recent times has become valuable real estate.

I can't believe people are stupid enough to live in these over priced buildings.

Once again artists are being forced to live elsewhere.
