Boycotting 'local' big name stores

I heard all your excuses. It's cheap'. 'It's convenient'. What will happen when your local community is decimated when the large superstores destroy your city? I watched a documentary in the library about what happens when local businesses reinvest their money back into their communities where they live and the problems when the supposed 'local' giant superstores rake the customers money and send it back to their headquarters in another city.
